Zustand technisch
It started easily and ran smoothly in the engine and drivetrain. Gears and brakes worked flawlessly. A short test drive felt as pleasant and functional as a small car from the 1950s could be. Underneath, the car looked healthy, and everything seemed to work and be in its place. A fun technical and visual detail is the two "vents" on the hat shelf and the two in the trunk on the rear pillar, which were meant to provide airflow. The car has also been equipped with a mechanical hand pump for windshield washing. The functioning turn signals enhance the nostalgic feeling.

Zustand Interieur
Interior in original condition with usage patina, everything is intact and clean. However, the upholstery has been removed and washed. Door panels have been replaced but reupholstered in the original style, with the original upholstery included. All instrumentation, except the clock, works well.

Zustand Exterieur
In large parts original but with signs of use. The shiny details, glass, and rubber are in good condition. Likewise, the rims are in good condition, and the tires with white sidewalls are also in good shape. The engine and luggage compartments are in fine original condition. The tools are in their bag.

Zustand gesamt
This car is a charming creature that evokes emotions and appreciation, whether on the road, at the gas station, at the gathering, or wherever one may be. The entirety is consistent, and everything is in the same delightfully worn condition. A lively 70-year-old, carrying its years with honor, it is a solid classic and a collector's item - a rolling piece of Swedish motor history and cultural treasure.

Fakten zum Modell
Over the years, there were steady changes, so that when the model 96 finally disappeared, you could put an early 92 next to an 80s model and see that not everything was the same, but you could still see a clear resemblance.
Back to the 1950s, when the first model year of the 92 arrived in 1950, after years of testing and debut on June 10, 1947, the waiting list was long. However, production did not pick up immediately; only 1,246 cars were manufactured in the first year. During the first years, the bottle-green color scheme was popular. For the 1953 model year, the first major changes were made when the rear window was enlarged, the fuel tank was moved, and the cars got a rear hatch. The luggage compartment also became larger when the battery was relocated to the engine compartment. With a removable rear seat, you could now also use your 92 as a small van, and Saab offered an insert box for this purpose. The seats were also updated. Internally, it was now called the 92B. For the 1954 model year, further upgrades were made, and the model was now officially called the 92B. A new carburetor (Solex 32 BI) and a new ignition coil increased the power from 25 to 28 horsepower. The paintwork became synthetic, and decorative strips were added to the fenders. The wheels received ventilation holes, and the doors were equipped with drag protectors made of plexiglass. New headlights from Hella with integrated parking lights were introduced, which meant that the small lights between the headlights, the grille, and the fenders disappeared. The instrumentation and interior details were also changed. The color options were now gray, blue-gray, green, maroon, and black. On March 6th, Saab number 10,000 rolled out of the factory. By summer, you could also order your 92 with a fabric sunroof. The last 92s were manufactured in 1956, by which time the successor, the model 93, had already begun its era. A total of 34,956 units of the model 92 were produced, of which 14,828 were of the B version.
