This Mercedes was sold new to a landowner in Falun in 1962. She was probably careful with her car and took good care of it considering the condition it is in. Since 2013, according to the inspection reports, the car has only been driven about 600 km. The Mercedes has fiberglass fenders at the front that were installed at some point in its life, but the car's repaired and base-painted original sheet metal fenders are included, see photo.

The car was not running smoothly at the time of the photoshoot, but this is supposed to be fixed upon delivery. The car has a noise/vibration issue coming from the driveshaft or universal joints.

The interior is in used condition. The panel under the dashboard is in poor condition. There is a stain on the rear seat. The sun visor on the driver's side is cracked, as shown in the pictures. There is rust in the trunk, also shown in the pictures.

The front wings of the car are made of fiberglass, but used sheet metal wings that are primer painted are included. The chrome has come off on the right side of the front bumper, as shown in the pictures, but is otherwise in good condition. The paint is in good condition.

W111 was introduced in August 1959 in three versions with different levels of equipment and tuning of the well-known 2.2-liter six-cylinder engine. The body, which was shared with the four-cylinder W110, was equipped with panoramic windows and fins. This had been the height of fashion in the United States in the 1950s. The successor, W108, was introduced in August 1965.
However, Mercedes-Benz did not give up on the W111 body. In July 1965, the 230 S was introduced as an entry-level model to the S-class. The model was produced until January 1968. Thereafter, the sedan version of "Heckflosse" disappeared.
Production amounted to 338,004 four-door wagons.

- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. - Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
