Volvo PV 544 Sport B18B — 1961-62

This PV Sport has undergone a very extensive renovation, super-accurate and detailed to a new car finish. Everything mechanically like engine, box, rear axle and chassis has been renovated, the interior is new and the paint job is at its highest level.
The car has been driven around the north of Sweden since it was sold new in Luleå. This is a real true PV Sport in the right cherry red (code Red 46), and the interior has got upholstery, door panels and headliner. Exterior chrome work is new or re chromed and all other trims/rubber details are replaced with new ones.
The owner has taken great care detailing and painting every feather brake calipers, heat box suspension arms etc.. nothing has been missed.
Underneath the bonnet sits the dual SU carburetors which are newly renovated, the valve cover is correct with the filler cap in the middle and all the hoses are correct. The original engine has been replaced with a proper B18B sports engine.
The car has the correct 5.90 15 diagonal tires and fitted with new springs, dampers and bushes.

Jag har renoverat 16 stycken Volvo PV genom åren. Denna har kommit ut som en av Sveriges absolut finaste.

PV is undoubtedly the model that meant most for Volvo's automobile manufacture. The Volvo PV 444 started to be manufactured in 1947 and the last PV 544 left the band 1965 after a total of 440,000 copies.
The first sport came in 1958, just after the introduction of the PV 544. The stronger engine, including double carburetors, was initially weighted only for the US market but at the end of 1958 it was clear that it could sell even in the domestic market without import charges in the US would be increased.
The first ones sold had a 85 hp B16B engine, but in August 1961 it was replaced by the new five-stroke B18 engine. PV 544 Sport got 90 hp B18D engine. In August 1965, the Sport got the power elevation to 95 hp, but just a month later, Volvo announced that the model would be shut down at the end of October 1965.
The last-made PV became a black 544 Sport.
