Fakten zum Modell
When the 99 series debuted on 22 November 1967 at Teknorama in Stockholm, the model was 1.7-liter engine design purchased from the English Triumph but soon it became clear that it was time for a new generation of Saab engines. The motor guru Per Gill Brand had left Volvo cars after developing their "Red" engine series – with B20 was at the forefront. The assignment at Saab was to make an even more modern machine. The "Scania engine" was introduced halfway into the model year 1972 and became the starting shot of what would later become the Turbo era. They named the engine "Scania-Motor" because it was put together at Saab's engine factory in Södertälje.
This copy is original equipted with stereo radio Blaupunkt 21 "Stockholm" and other news for model year 1972: more powerful suspension, new flashers/parking lights, new, absorbing bumpers; new wheels and an electrically heated driver's seat.
