A very nice 170S with fantastic interior and almost as nice exterior. The paintwork is professional, and though many years have passed, it is still in nice condition. The chrome and rubber details are all good. All upholstery, mats and ceiling are refurbished by a very good saddler. Immaculate condition. Discreet patina on steering wheel, sun shades and woodwork. Same neat condition under the engine hood.
At the latest inspection 1989, this Mercedes 170S passed with no remarks. Since then this car has been run only 1 500 km.
Some spare parts such as seals, strips and glass covers for lighting are included.
When the 170S was released in 1949 it was a considerably more modern car than its predecessor, even if it was hardly reflected on the exterior. However, from a technical point of view, it was provided with a new front end and a larger engine.
All-in-all 28 000 170S W136 cars were manufactured between 1949 and 1951.

Some washing scratches, but despite an old repaint, still glossy and fine. Good chrome and rubber details. A very small damage on the top edge of the radiator masking.
Fine play around doors and hoods. -

Mercedes-Benz första efterkrigsbil som hade sin grund i föregångaren W136 – ett internnummer som för övrigt fick följa med över även till den här generationen som tillverkades mellan 1949 och 1951 – innan den bytte internkod till W187.
När modellen presenterades 1949 med ny kaross hade 170S även uppdaterats med ny framvagn med dubbla länkarmar och skruvfjädrar, samt en större motor. 170S tillverkades dels som sedan, dels som cabriolet.
