It was registered for traffic in Sweden and delivered to its first owner in April 1997 by Ambjörnssons Bil AB in Gislaved. The first owner didn’t drive it much, and after the current owner purchased the car, it hasn’t seen much use either. In fact, this car has practically never been driven in the rain and has always been stored indoors. Maintenance has been carried out according to the service book, and even more beyond that. Today, it has a total mileage of just over 25,000 km, making it likely one of the lowest mileage and best-preserved examples of the model in Sweden. The most recent inspection was completed on 2024-09-06.

The engine, transmission, and brakes feel like new, as does much of the rest of the car. About a year ago, a front-end alignment was performed, and the rear tires were replaced at the same time.

The interior is clean and inviting with a fresh feel, featuring beautifully preserved leather and wood. There is a small discoloration on the driver’s floor mat. All electrical functions, pixels, and details are in perfect working condition.

The original paint is well-polished, with no damage or stone chips, and the original wheels are in great condition, featuring older Michelins in the front and newer Pirellis in the back. The soft top has always been kept up when the car is stationary, and it shows—it’s undamaged and in excellent condition without any marks.

Fakten zum Modell
The XK8 model succeeded the XJ-S, which had been in production for over 20 years. The new model was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1996 and produced between 1996 and 2005. Its design paid homage to the curves of the classic E-Type. The XK8 was developed in collaboration with Aston Martin and shares the same platform and chassis as the Aston Martin DB7. Under Ford’s ownership through PAG (Premier Automotive Group, which also included Volvo and Land Rover), much of the interior had a Ford-like feel, and the sense of quality tended to fade a bit too quickly in well-used examples. Not so very Jaguarish, so to speak. The model was relatively affordable, and many have been driven extensively and worn out. Well-maintained cars in good condition are hard to find.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
