It was registered for road use in Sweden on 19 July 2005 and most likely originates from England, as evidenced by its mile-speedometer and right-hand drive. The current owner is Jaguar specialist Joe’s Garage, who has spent time making the car mechanically reliable. It’s been through a full inspection and service, and the water pump and several associated hoses were recently replaced. The most recent approved inspection took place on 22 April 2024.

It starts easily, the gearbox shifts smoothly, and the brakes pull evenly. The chassis also appears to be in good condition. It’s advisable to keep an eye on the function and condition of the hydraulic dampers.

The leather upholstery shows normal wear for the mileage—a wash and conditioning treatment would work wonders. As is often the case, there’s a bit more wear on the driver’s seat entry area, here on the right side. The headliner and door panels are in very good condition.

Partially repainted: there’s a narrow band of a covering “body coat” along the bottom of the sills and wheel arches. The roof paint is flat, with small blemishes and corrosion at the bottom of the front wings, and minor blistering by the “dog legs.” It runs on older tyres with good tread and has nice, original wheel covers.

In 1980, the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow and Bentley T-Series were replaced by the Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit and, as with earlier models, a Bentley-badged counterpart. This time, however, it was given a name: “Mulsanne,” taken from Bentley’s motorsport history, with five victories in the Le Mans 24 Hours between 1924 and 1930. The “Mulsanne Straight” is a 6 km-long straight famous for high speeds over the years; in 1990, two chicanes were added to curb its top speeds.
Originally, the Mulsanne shared the same 6.7-litre carburetted V8 as the Silver Shadow II and Bentley T2 that preceded it. In 1982, however, Bentley introduced the Mulsanne Turbo—with 50 % more power and torque—exclusively for Bentley. From 1986 onward, SU carburettors were replaced by Bosch fuel injection across the range. All Mulsannes were fitted with a three-speed automatic gearbox.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
