The current owner acquired the car in July 2012. Since then, it has covered just over 20,000 km, bringing the total mileage to 183,490 km. It has always been kept garaged when not in use.
The owner has maintained the car regularly, including spark plugs, fluids and filters. It has performed reliably throughout the ownership period, with no work required beyond routine servicing.
The original German handbooks are included, together with a Swedish owner’s manual. There is also a selection of documentation and inspection records, and all keys are present.
The car is inspected and ready to drive.

Zustand technisch
The car started easily and the engine ran smoothly and quietly. During a test drive on smaller country roads and through residential areas, the steering, automatic transmission with functioning kickdown, road manners and brakes all performed well.
The car has not been inspected on a lift, but the underside appears sound, and there have been no related remarks at roadworthiness inspections. -
Zustand Interieur
A well-preserved original interior in light brown, showing only mild signs of use. The seats remain comfortable, with a small amount of stitching coming loose in one area.
The door cards, interior panels and carpets are all in good condition, as are the wood trim details. The steering wheel, controls, dashboard and instruments are also well preserved, and all electrical functions appear to work as intended.
A more modern radio/audio unit has been fitted. The luggage compartment is clean and well kept, and the original spare wheel remains in untouched condition. -
Zustand Exterieur
The car appears to retain its original anthracite grey metallic paintwork, which presents well with only mild signs of use. The glass, trim, badges and lighting details are in similarly good condition.
It is fitted with attractive Dotz alloy wheels and good Goodyear tyres dating from 2018. The engine bay is in good condition, although a thorough detailing would further improve its appearance. The bonnet insulation is missing.
The soft top is in good, watertight condition and was replaced three years ago. The hardtop is also well preserved and has spent most of its time stored on its stand in the garage. Its electrical functions work as intended, and the hardtop stand is included with the car. -
Zustand gesamt
Now more than 30 years old, this car has clearly entered the realm of the modern classic and enthusiast car.
It is also a wonderfully versatile model, offering the choice of open-top motoring, temporary weather protection with the soft top, or the comfort of a coupé with the hardtop fitted. Whichever configuration you choose, the car is well equipped with the technology and options of its era, and everything works as it should.

Fakten zum Modell
The R129 was developed to combine sports car performance with the comfort, safety and sense of quality expected from a Mercedes-Benz. The model featured a number of advanced technical solutions and became one of the marque’s most sophisticated roadsters of its era.
At launch, the range included models such as the 300 SL-24 and 500 SL. Over the course of its production run, a wide variety of engines was offered, ranging from six-cylinder units to V8 and V12 engines. The model was continuously updated and received several major revisions, including changes for the 1994, 1996 and 1999 model years.
The R129 remained in production until 2001/2002, when it was succeeded by the R230. A total of 213,089 examples were produced, making the R129 one of the most successful generations in Mercedes-Benz’s long SL history.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
