A British Humber - as picked from the shadow portions of ´Commissioner Morse´.
This is a Hawk in genuine and fine untouched condition. Glossy but with slight patina when looking closer. The upholstry is original and intact but could be enhanced with some cleaning and ajustment of details. This specimen was immobilized in 2007 with 91 200 km on the odometer. It has belonged to Jännaholm´s car collection for a long time.
Humber Hawk has a 4-cylinder straight engine with 78 hp, 4-speed steering gear shift and rear wheel drive.

Zustand Interieur
Original upholstery on sofas - front and back. Intact upholstery but the rear sofa would be revived by a proper cleaning. Discoloured sun screens but intact and fine ceiling. The padding on the upper part of the dashboard needs a repaint. Otherwise the dashboard is fine with the grain still in very good condition.
Worn door handles but otherwise nice door sides. -
Zustand Exterieur
Original black cellulose paint. Glossy and fine but with some minor scratches. Door edge nicks and chip restoration. Traces of worn wiper blades on the windscreen.

Neat and untouched condition. A genuine original car that can be further enhanced by slightly improving the interior.

En bil man ser väldigt sällan i Sverige. Många fina detaljer.
Fakten zum Modell
Brittiska Humber tillverkade sin Hawk mellan 1945 och 1967. Generationen som tillverkades mellan 1957 och 1967 blev den sista. När den kom 1957 var det en helt ny konstruktion med självbärande kaross, som delades med större och lyxigare Super Snipe. Under huven satt en fyrcylindrig radmotor på 78 hk, fyrväxlad rattväxel och bakhjulsdrift. Hösten 1960 kom första uppgraderingen med servoassisterade bromsar fram. Fyra år senare kom sista evolutionen med ny taklinje och större fönsterytor.
Humber är likt merparten av alla brittiska gamla bilmärken idag borta från marknaden. Humber startade sin verksamhet i Sheffield 1868 med att bygga cyklar och redan 1898 byggde man sin första bil. Företaget växte organiskt och köpte senare även lastbilstillverkaren Kommer för att sedan själva bli uppköpta av Rootes. 1967 när Chrysler köpte Rootes försvann Humber från marknaden.
