Fakten zum Modell
Dodge Charger gjorde sin debut i mitten av 1966. Den delade chassi med Coronet och påminde också en hel del om Coronet och Rambler Marlin. Roterande lampor hade inte Mopar haft sedan 1942 och lika tuff var den baktill med sin hela ljusramp. Inuti bjöds på fyra separata skålade säten, träfärgad plastratt och fullängds konsol från instrumentbrädan och hela vägen bak.
Motoralternativen var bara V8:or och 1966 fanns fyra att välja på: basmodellen med 318, en lite större 361, mer kända 383 och så den mycket rara mytomspunna värstingen 426 Hemi.
1967 hade man bättrat på motoralternativen med 440 Magnum, 440:n hade 375 hk och kom som original med en fyrportsförgasare.
