This Austin Sheerline is equipped with the larger 4-litre six cylinder 125 hp engine and comes from the Alstad collection. Runs great, bodywork and chromework fine. Unrestored
Austin's finest, on par with Rolls and Bentley at the time. The Sheerline creates the big looks due to the impressive front with the enormous headlights.
8 000 were built and this one came to Sweden from Denmark 1967. Has since then been part of two major car collections.

Some adjustments on doors and bonnet, as well as some electrical issues; the lights and radio are not working properly. Exhaust system is repaired and the engine bay is touched up painted by hand.

Fakten zum Modell
Sheerline var Austins stora lyxbil mellan 1947 och 1954. Bilen ritades under andra världskriget men produktionen startade inte förrän efter. Detta var en exklusiv bil byggd för att tävla med Rolls-Royce och Bentley men betydligt lägre prissatt – även om den förstås var dyrare än mycket annat. Med färre än 8 000 tillverkade är Sheerline idag en mycket ovanlig bil.
De första som har tilläggsbeteckningen A110, hade 3,4-liters rak sexa med överliggande kamaxel men ersattes snart av A125 – med den större 4-litersmotorn på 125 hk. Initialt fanns Sheerline bara som saloon men 1949 kom även en längre version med ytterligare två fot mellan hjulparen.
