It was delivered new to Aktiebolaget Vattenbyggnadsbyrn in April 1965 as a company car for civil engineer Valter Furuskog by the car company AB Ingvar Bergengren. A Vanden Plas Princess R is a high-end mid-size car with an automatic transmission, a Rolls-Royce engine, and usual English features such as leather seats, walnut panelling, and power steering. At the said car company, service and maintenance are performed on a regular basis, and engineer Furuskog's purpose and goal is to take over the car personally when he retired. He takes a lot of criticism for being responsible for the car's, in his opinion, poor quality, particularly the power steering leakage. Included in the folder is a long letter to the factory talking about how the resolve the power steering problem under warranty. The car has a complete history and is in great condition; it is a very uncommon car to see on Swedish roads these days.

Zustand technisch
The aluminium Rolls engine starts immediately and feels suitably hefty on the road; the automatic gearbox's positions are arranged slightly differently, but it shifts smoothly and comfortably. Nothing is obvious from the first owner Furuskog's problem with leaking power steering; the steering is light, and the brakes apply evenly.

Zustand Interieur
Lovely leather upholstery, fine carpets, and a traditional walnut panel in nice condition. The headliner is clean, and the buttons and levers have a solid feel about them. In the back seat folding tables give even more luxury.

In our opinion nice original paint job with a bonnet that has been repainted. In the bodywork, everything is straight with good shut lines. A few minor paint touch-ups on the driver's door, as well as a couple of minor dings on the tailgate.

Nice and user-friendly in a nice original condition, with a Rolls Royce engine gives it a charming driving sensation.

Fakten zum Modell
Vanden Plas Princess R var en lyxigare variant av Austin A99 Westminister. En vanlig åkomma inom BMC-familjen vid den här tiden just "badge engineering". Austin A99 förekom också i en Wolsley-variant. Rolls-motorn i Princess R-versionen skänkte i alla fall äkta kraft och exklusivitet i sammanhanget. Man kan anta att första ägaren civ. ing. Furuskog särskilt uppskattade denna exklusivitet. Det var inte många Princess R som såldes i Sverige 1965.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
