"A tough 109 with potential and many possibilities."

Beschreibung

This Land Rover has a somewhat odd history. Reportedly delivered by a previous owner to Vattenfall in early 1970 along with several other vehicles of the same make, all painted in Vattenfall’s gray color. Most of them ended up in Norrbotten for duty at various power stations, like this example. Strangely, it was only inspected once in its life, in 1973, after which it was deregistered at the end of that year and was then only used within the enclosed area of the power plant. At some point during the 1990s, it found its way to one of Vattenfall’s power stations in Hälsingland for continued service. The vehicle is now owned by a private individual and is in a condition that makes it suitable for restoration. Recent work on the vehicle includes changing the oil and filters + fuel filter and new electrical cables have been installed to the lights but have not been fully connected. The right rear light is not working, but the other lights function when directly connected to the battery. The glow plugs are new but not connected to the ignition, making the engine very hard to start at low temperatures. The cooling system has been flushed and emptied of fluid, but antifreeze for -25 degrees Celsius is included. The Rover has only been driven about 10 kilometers in recent years and the car was not test-driven at the time of photographing as the engine would not start, hence a check of the car's functions and equipment was not performed.

Fakten zum Modell

In April 1948, the Land Rover was introduced, a robust work vehicle. Over the years, it saw a variety of body styles in both shorter and longer versions. By 1958, the Series II was launched with a longer wheelbase, now 88 and 109 inches respectively. In 1971, it was time for Series III. Despite an aura of ruggedness, the vehicles became increasingly civilized over the years. Notably, in 1983, the Series III was phased out in favor of the new Defender, which is still being manufactured today. Reliable gasoline and diesel engines and four-wheel drive made the Land Rover, in all its forms, a cherished utility vehicle.
