Zustand technisch
The engine was replaced with a 1969 unit, and the transmission was restored in 2001 by the Volvo Clubs / SVIS in Köping. The brakes were also renovated at the time. According to the owner, the gearbox is leaking some oil, most likely from the speedometer. The engine compartment has not been touched. The engine and automatic transmission provide a nice feel, shift, and sound.

Zustand Interieur
Nice and neat interior with an exciting full bench seat, which was a code and detail for the American market. Beautiful light blue wool fabric and carpeting, but the driver's seat has a tear at the top of the backrest ( see picture). Lovely and rare headrests in a delectably patterned fabric, as well as an original Blaupunkt radio.

Zustand Exterieur
In 2001, the body was partially renovated with new wings, a new windscreen and front plate, and a totally repainted in the original color Pearl white 42. There are a few minor parking dings on the doors and side moldings. Volvo original towbar and nice metal number plate are included.

Zustand gesamt
A nice and very functional 164 with a proud history in a nice and sincere honest condition. Since I haven't driven much since the Covid times, I could recommend a service.

Fakten zum Modell
Eftersom samtliga modeller som Volvo tillverkade började falla för åldersstrecket blev det i stället högsta prioritet att ta fram en ersättare till Amazon. Det resulterade i 140-serien, och för att spara utvecklingskostnader fick även lyxmodellen 164 baseras på denna konstruktion. För att markera skillnaden fick 164 en annan formgivning av fronten så att man kunde se skillnad på dem. Framdelen av bilen var också 20 cm längre än 144, och detta gav plats för en sexcylindrig radmotor, som var baserad på den nya B20 som ersatte B18. Utrustningsnivån i 164 var högre än i 140-serien, med bland annat skinnklädsel. Taklucka fanns som tillval. Automatlåda (3-stegad Borg Warner) fanns också som tillval.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
