Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 3.5 V8 — 1970

This car was imported in 1989 by a collector on the east coast; it has been used very sparingly over the years and only driven about 6000 km since.
The car has been continuously renovated with, among other things; a new sill was change about 15 years ago and fully repainted in its original color. At this time, all rubber seals around the doors were also replaced. Furthermore, the air suspension has been renovated with new valves and bellows and the exhaust system was replaced. During all the years the owner has stored the car in a dehumidified garage.
The current owner bought the car a year ago and is very happy with it, but since he has a family with children, he feels that this is too nice as an excursion car, which is why he chooses to sell it.

• Zustand technisch

  The car runs fine but needs a simple service, slightly sluggish when it is hot. Functional air suspension renovated a few years ago. The gearbox is smooth with no jerky shifts.

• Zustand Interieur

  Original interior that’s in a top condition with only few minor traces of use. A small cracked trim on the driver's door.

• Zustand Exterieur

  The sills were replaced about 20 years ago and was professional paint in is original color and remains very nice. Some small defects on the bonnet, right rear door and bumpers rubber left front. The chrome work all-round is very presentable.

• Zustand gesamt

  A well-equipped original car with only a few owners, it has an original radio with remote control from the back seat, electric sunroof, electric window front and rear window, air suspension etc.

300 SEL
Ett knappt år efter introduktionen av Mercedes-Benz W108, presenterades lyxversionen 300 SEL i mars 1966. Bilen hade exklusivare interiör än sina enklare syskon och var försedd med den stora sexan och luftfjädringen från företrädaren W112. Mercedes gjorde gällande att L:et i modellnamnet stod för Lang (förlängd).

I december 1967 upphörde tillverkningen av treliterssexan M189 och bilen försågs med den mindre sexan M130 från 280 SL.

I september 1969 ersattes den sexcylindriga motorn av Mercedes nya V8 i 300 SEL 3.5.

Produktionen upphörde i september 1972 efter 17 024 tillverkade exemplar.
