The motorcycle has been part of a collection of vehicles in Sorsele. The late car collector Mr. Hedman was a recognized expert and passionate enthusiast who restored everything from motorcycles and tractors to cars. He worked as a caretaker for the Sorsele municipality for almost 40 years and became a well-known motoring figure in the area. Bilweb Auctions has now been entrusted with selling the collection on behalf of the estate. Several of the vehicles are placed on jack stands to prevent the tires from being damaged during long-term storage. The vehicles could therefore not be brought out for the photo session, and in some cases it has not been possible to document the vehicles from all angles. Expect the vehicles to need servicing and attention to varying degrees.
This dream machine was purchased new on November 9, 1953, by a Mr. Hedman, residing in Sorsele parish. The dealer was the well-known Westers Cykel & Sport in Sorsele. The motorcycle underwent a restoration when it was acquired by the late Mr. Hedman.
We do not know exactly what was done or when the work was carried out. We believe it was done sometime in the early 2000s.
We do not know when the motorcycle was deregistered, but it was in any case done before the state introduced the central vehicle register in 1973. The motorcycle still has the old county registration number AC 15297. The old registration certificate is included. The buyer will therefore need to apply for an origin verification (ursprungskontroll) with the Swedish Transport Agency (Transportstyrelsen), and once that is approved, the motorcycle can then undergo a registration inspection at a vehicle inspection station.
This is a remote auction. The photos were taken by an independent photographer, and information about the vehicle and its technical condition, to the extent such information has been available, has been obtained from the estate administrator. BWA has therefore not inspected the vehicle on site at the seller's location.

Equipped with an air-cooled two-stroke engine of 175 cc. We have no information on when it was last started; no attempts to start it were made at the time of photography.

A repaint was carried out in connection with the restoration work. We do not know exactly when this was done, but we estimate it was done in the early 2000s. It appears that a nice driver-quality finish has been achieved. There is some paint flaking on the fuel tank, at the front edge on the left side. Study the pictures carefully for more information about the condition.

Why the nickname Drömbågen?
Until 1953, the Swedish market was dominated by utility vehicles. Husqvarna's own bestseller was the "Svartqvarnan" – a reliable but extremely spartan, all-black 118 cc motorcycle without rear suspension. The Drömbågen broke completely with this. It was designed by the renowned designer Sixten Sason (who also designed Saab's first cars and Husqvarna's sewing machines). Sason gave the motorcycle its iconic, futuristic pressed-steel frame, an elegant headlight integrated into the handlebars, and a two-tone color scheme in light blue and red/white. The Drömbågen came to symbolize the new era's freedom, adventure, and modern design. It was also equipped with an entirely new, dependable 175cc two-stroke engine. But the biggest news for the rider was the modern front and rear suspension. Riding on the poor, potholed gravel roads of the time was transformed from a bone-shaking ordeal into a smooth and comfortable experience – it floated along like a dream.
