The car has been in the family for a long time. The current owner's father-in-law owned it for 16 years before the current owner took it over in 2016. During his time with the car, the father-in-law replaced a number of wear items and also addressed some rust damage. Since taking over, the current owner has continued to care for and maintain the car, replacing parts as needed. The family has primarily used the car as a summer car, just as a convertible should be used. It has been driven sparingly and mainly in fine weather, which has contributed to a sheltered life. The car has always been stored under cover, in a garage during the winter and in a carport the rest of the year. Some documentation is included showing what has been done to the car over the years. As far as the current owner knows, it has not been repainted, which is also my assessment. In 2016, the water pump and sway bar, among other items, were replaced. Routine servicing has included annual oil changes, and in 2026 the rear brake calipers, brake discs, brake pads, and brake hoses were replaced on both sides. The most recent passed inspection was carried out on July 14, 2026, after which the car is exempt from inspection. It should be noted, however, that the driveshaft center support bearing is making noise and needs attention.

Runs well in terms of engine and drivetrain, but the driveshaft center support bearing should be looked over. The car's power antenna works. Inspected in July and passed.

The interior is in good condition with signs of use. Overall, the seats, carpets, door panels, and dashboard are in well-kept condition.

The paint is in normal condition considering the car's age and mileage. There are some minor rust bubbles under the paint on the tops of the headlights, see pictures. There is also minor damage to the corner of the left rear fender, see picture. The soft top is in acceptable condition and folds down without issue. The undercarriage also appears to be in good condition. A trim strip for the left front fender is included loose, see picture.

Zustand gesamt
A solid, running car in good, driveable condition. For those so inclined, there is potential for improvement. A perfect winter project for the garage.

One of the true GT classics of the automotive world. The open Mercedes-Benz SL with the 107 body became a real long-runner, lasting 18 years. Production started in 1971 and continued all the way to 1989. By the time production ended, a full 260,000 examples had been built.
The 107 generation came about at a time when the American authorities significantly tightened their safety requirements, forcing many manufacturers to go all out.
At Mercedes-Benz, the 107 was internally known as the panzer wagon due to its construction. Over the years, the SL was built with a range of engines – both sixes and V8s.
The SL was also available as a luxury coupe, then called the SLC, which had a longer chassis than the strictly two-seat convertible version, the SL.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
