The car was built around 30 years ago by its current owner, who embraced the USA-inspired Cal Look style. The chassis comes from a ’63, the body from a ’53, and the engine is an unmodified 1300 unit from a later model year. Everything has been assembled in a highly professional and tasteful manner, featuring a Mexico-inspired black and red color scheme.
The car has seen only limited use and was off the road for nearly twenty years before being inspected in May 2025. The slightly lowered car, with newly refurbished brakes, passed the inspection without any remarks. Recently, the clutch assembly — including the pressure plate, release bearing, and seal — has been replaced, along with the gearbox seal and the pushrod tubes with their corresponding gaskets.
The electrical system has been converted to twelve volts but is equipped with a converter that provides six volts to the trafficators (also known as semaphores) and the wiper motor. Everything has been built to a professional standard by the owner, who is both a mechanic and an auto electrician. The entire car exudes a retro feel, reminiscent of the customized Volkswagens of the 1970s.

The car starts very easily, with a well-functioning automatic choke, and all technical functions operate flawlessly. The sound system will be removed prior to sale. The gearbox and clutch are in excellent condition, as are the newly refurbished brakes. The trafficators (semaphores) work perfectly.

Clean and tidy interior with slightly more modern seats featuring high backrests. The steering wheel is original from ’53 and shows notable patina and wear. The headliner has been replaced, but the installation is somewhat imperfect — see photos.

The thirty-year-old paintwork is still in good condition, and the body is straight and well-aligned, with proper door gaps. There are no noticeable dents or damage, although minor paint blemishes can be seen on the front fenders. The rear bumper is missing to accommodate the aftermarket exhaust system — see photos.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
