Unusual formula car from a late sixties successful Italian formula car brand, Techno. In the mid-sixties, Formula 4 equipped with motorcycle engines was intended to be a step in the borderland for drivers between go-karts and Formula 3. At the same time, Formula Ford and Formula Vee were introduced, both of which developed into large entry-level classes. The competition became too great and Formula 4 never really got hold of Sweden. The Tecno brand, on the other hand, was of great importance to the future international Swedish racing stars Ronnie Peterson and Reine Wisell, who won many races in Formula 3 with precisely the Tecno cars in the late sixties. The car comes with extensive documentation. Among other things, the importer Connys Motors ads from when it started can be seen there. Conny Holmberg, who owned the agency, is still with us today and can tell us a lot about those days, including how it happened when he, Ronnie and Reine went down to Italy to pick up the Tecno Formula 3 chassis from the factory. Both Ronnie and Reine tested the Tecno 4 cars on Swedish tracks.

Refurbished chassis with new and refurbished parts along with a refurbished Ducati 250cc engine. The car does not fit into any historic racing class in Sweden, but can be used on private track days.

To the extent that an interior can be found on a spartan formula car, it is clean and tidy with a freshly dressed plastic seat and a nice original steering wheel together with a correct pedal rack. Instruments are missing in these cars.

Fakten zum Modell
Formed as 'Tecnokart' by brothers Luciano and Gianfranco Pederzani in 1962, the Italian firm built karts at first before diversifying into larger types of open-wheel racing cars and eventually Formula 1. Tecno arrived on the international stage in 1966 as a manufacturer of Formula 3 cars, which were characterised by a short wheelbase and forward driving position. Within a couple of years the Tecno was the car to beat in Formula 3, achieving 32 victories out of 65 major international races in 1968, while in 1969 Ronnie Peterson, driving a Novamotor-engined example, won 14 races including the prestigious support race at the Monaco Grand Prix.
Tecno's first move away from karts was with a car for Formula 4. The latter was one of the many low-cost formulae dreamt up in the mid-1960s, and catered for cars powered by 250cc production motorcycle engines. Tecno's effort, the K250, usually came with a 250cc Ducati engine installed.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
