This is an unusual model in Sweden. We don't know of any more anywhere. With its vinyl roof in the form of a soft top, it is easy to think that it is an open-top car.
This is a car in the 10th generation of the Oldsmobile 88. That series was produced between 1992 and 1999. All models in this series were equipped with a 3.8-litre V6. A few were supplied with compressors. Despite the V6 engine and automatic transmission, the seller claims that it can be driven on just under a litre of petrol in normal highway driving.
This car is from Florida and was imported as moving goods to Sweden about 20 years ago. It is unclear what was included in the Gulf Edition, but this car is special with its convertible-looking vinyl roof, 208 horsepower V6, 4-speed automatic transmission, and gold shimmer paint. Leather upholstery, CD and cassette player, double sun visors, central locking, electric lifts, electrically adjustable front seats, AC (not tested) and winter tyres on original wheels.
It rumbles beautifully like a thunderstorm in the distance from the V6.
At the last inspection in April 2022, the Oldsmobile was praised for its fine condition in terms of chassis and rust protection underneath.
There are new front wheel bearings, a new rear silencer and a newly serviced gearbox including a new filter.

The car has only been test driven a short distance by Bilweb Auctions, but a few days earlier it was driven 150-200 km without problems.
There are new front wheel bearings, a new rear silencer and a newly serviced gearbox including a new filter. Inspected in April 2022. -
Zustand Interieur
The buyer should check the many functions that are controlled from inside the cabin, as a systematic check was not carried out at the time of the photo. AC is, among other things, not tested.
Headliner is hanging. Damage to the inside of the driver's door, see picture. Otherwise in good used condition as you would expect from an American car of this age and mileage -

Minor rust damage in the middle of the front doors and some minor damage can be detected.

For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
