Beschreibung
The first owner decided as early as 1977 to turn their Firebird into a show car. At that point, the car was barely a year old and had only clocked 11,000 kilometers in Sweden. It was completely disassembled, and the custom project began. Nearly everything that could be chromed was chromed, including the rear axle—a typical trend at the time. The work continued into the early 1980s but was interrupted as other priorities took over.
In 2007, the owner passed away, and the car was sold by the estate. The underside was partially completed with paint and chrome, but the exterior needed a fresh paint job, and the car required reassembly. The current owner enthusiastically took on the project. The firewall was already painted black with green pearl, so the decision was made to follow through with the first owner’s vision. The underside was completed, and the wheel wells were painted in gold metallic.
The interior was in like-new condition, requiring only the replacement of the headliner. All rubber seals were also replaced.
The odometer reads 12,000 kilometers. While this cannot be guaranteed, it is likely considering the car’s history. It has hardly been driven since it was new. The car was deregistered from 1977 until 2022, after which it has only been driven an additional 1,000 kilometers. Even the heirs who sold the car to the current owner confirmed that the mileage is accurate.
As for the polished underside, the front subframe and crossmember have been galvanized, polished, and clear-coated. The control arms have been sanded to bare metal and clear-coated, while other components, including the rear axle, have been chromed. See the pictures of the underside for details. Since the car was disassembled when it was practically new, it has never needed any rust repair.
Another unique custom touch is the taillights from a 1979 model.
This is the perfect car for someone who loves detailing and prefers to steer clear of gravel roads.

Zustand technisch
Lively Pontiac 350 V8 equipped with an Edelbrock aluminum intake, a Holley 4-barrel carburetor, and connected side pipes. Features include power steering (PS), power brakes (PB), front disc brakes, and rear drum brakes. Additionally, it comes with a 4-speed 350 automatic transmission.
The engine starts easily and runs smoothly with just the right amount of rumble from the exhaust. We took it out for a short test drive and confirmed that everything works as it should. -
Zustand Interieur
The interior was removed back in 1977 at the start of the project and reassembled in 2015. It’s in stunning condition, just as it looked in 1976. Even the floor mats are original. The only part replaced was the headliner.
It features a period-correct sport steering wheel, a modern CD player, and classic 6x9 speakers mounted in the rear parcel shelf. -
Zustand Exterieur
The car was painted in 2010, completing the original plan. It features a black base with green metallic pearl—a stunning look, though it’s difficult to capture accurately in the low winter sunlight. The entire underside is painted in gold metallic, with everything that could reasonably be chromed finished in chrome.
The Wolfrace wheels are NOS (New Old Stock), purchased by the first owner in the 1980s, and fitted with period-correct older tires that have seen very little use. This gives the car the perfect stance.
There is some variation in the panel gaps between the body panels, which was very common on American cars straight from the factory during this era. This is neither unusual nor noteworthy—simply an observation.
The hood was prepared for hood pins back in the 1980s, and the pins are included separately. -
