Zustand technisch
At some point, the engine was replaced with a rebuilt 1.3-liter unit from the same engine family — the well-known twin overhead camshaft engine that was produced in several versions ranging from 1.3 to 2.0 liters. The engine starts easily even without using the choke and responds eagerly. The gearbox, clutch, brakes, and chassis all feel correct and appropriate for the model and type of car. The car has recently been serviced with all oils and fluids replaced.

Zustand Interieur
A newly manufactured leather interior has been fitted by the current owner, together with a new set of carpets. The steering wheel, controls, and switches are beautifully preserved, displaying an attractive and honest patina.
-
Zustand Exterieur
The body itself was restored more than 20 years ago, and there are a few minor imperfections in the underlying preparation work, visible as small bubbles in certain areas. The current owner has fitted new Michelin Primacy 4 tires.

Zustand gesamt
A charming representative of the model without pretending to be a concours showpiece. Presented in fine working condition and as beautiful as only a classic Alfa Romeo from the 1950s can be.

Fakten zum Modell
The most significant change compared with its predecessor was found beneath the hood, where the car received a new 1.6-liter four-cylinder twin-cam engine. To accommodate the larger engine, the hood was given a distinctive air intake that quickly became one of the Giulia model’s most recognizable visual features. A new five-speed gearbox — considered an advanced luxury in the early 1960s — provided the car with improved long-distance touring capabilities.
During 1964, several important chassis updates were introduced, including front disc brakes becoming standard equipment in order to match the increased performance. The model was offered both in the standard “Normale” specification and in the more powerful “Veloce” version, which featured twin Weber carburetors and was specifically tuned for sportier driving.
The Giulia Spider became one of the last classic Alfa Romeo convertibles to retain the marque’s characteristic soft, rounded 1950s styling before the more angular “Duetto” design took over in 1966. Today, it is highly regarded among collectors and considered one of the finest combinations of postwar Italian elegance and pure driving enjoyment.
