The current owner had long been searching for a new project, especially a Volvo 145, as these classic estates are becoming increasingly hard to find today. Being a skilled mechanic with extensive Volvo knowledge, he spent much of 2023 stripping the car down and properly repairing rust damage around the rear inner and outer wheel arches as well as the sill areas, creating a solid foundation for the renovation.
During the rebuild, the car was fitted with a good Volvo exchange engine from 1973 showing approximately 100,000 km, which was reviewed with worn parts replaced as needed. It was also upgraded with a desirable manual gearbox featuring overdrive operated via the gear shifter, along with power steering for improved driving comfort. Looking through the engine bay pictures, you can clearly see the large amount of new parts fitted during the renovation. The suspension and complete brake system were also reviewed.
The car was repainted in bright Orange 901, with some new chrome trim fitted during the rebuild. Inside, the original interior has been retained, still giving the car that charming and honest 1970s atmosphere, with only some light age-related wear visible in places. The car was fully completed and received its final inspection on 2024-05-16, and is now inspection exempt. Since the renovation was finished, it has been driven approximately 4,000 km during the summer months, mainly to local car events and trips to the owner’s summer house, showing it has been properly enjoyed and regularly used.

Zustand technisch
The engine starts instantly and runs super smooth, with a clean and tidy engine bay showing plenty of new parts fitted during the renovation. Out on the road the car feels strong and well sorted, with an easy-shifting gearbox, working overdrive, solid brakes, and confident road handling.
Slightly lowered and fitted with wheel spacers and a rear boot spoiler, the car has the perfect period sporty stance without losing its classic Volvo charm. A cool and properly sorted 145 that is ready to drive home and enjoy immediately. -
Zustand Interieur
The interior was carefully saved and refitted after the renovation, helping the car retain its wonderful 1970s atmosphere and charm. The front seats remain in good condition, while the rear seat shows only two small holes and some light wear from age and use.
The headliner has a small rip, but the door cards remain in good condition overall. The dashboard is complete with its original instrumentation and fitted with a sporty Volvo R-style steering wheel, while the dashboard panel itself has one small crack. Carpets are good throughout with only some light marks visible in the rear boot area.
Overall, the interior remains clean, tidy, and full of character, still giving the car that genuine period Volvo feeling. -
Zustand Exterieur
Bodywork is straight and presents well overall with no major dents, damage, or visible rust issues. Underneath, the car is clean and tidy with visible signs of repair work carried out during the renovation.
The car was repainted in the owner’s garage and still has a good overall appearance today. There are some flatter paint areas on the right rear panel and door, though these could easily be improved in the future if desired.
Chrome work and trim are in good condition throughout, complemented by a nice set of wheels fitted with newer whitewall tires. The window glass have been blacked out using removable foil, which can easily be removed if a more original appearance is preferred. -

An easy and reliable classic to drive, still retaining its wonderful original interior feeling and charm. These Volvo 145s are becoming increasingly hard to find today.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
