Beschreibung

One of the legendary DeLorean cars is up for sale. It arrived in Sweden in 1989 and is now in the hands of its fifth owner. The current owner has had the car for six years. The car has rolled a few kilometres since 1981 and is in good operational order. There are faster sports cars, but few with the same charisma. Stainless steel body, gull-wing doors, turbine rims, and a low-speed profile are long-lasting features. Just what John De Lorean envisioned when he began work on the project in the late 1970s.

Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand

  • Zustand technisch:

    In good condition but a review and service is recommended. New battery. The AC needs to be refilled. The spare wheel is damaged.

  • Zustand Interieur:

    Seats, carpets and upholstery in good working order. Stereo is out of order.

  • Zustand Exterieur:

    The body, glass, and other details are in good operating order. The shutter over the back window and engine compartment is damaged, but the current owner will receive a replacement from the insurance company and it will be in place when the car is sold.

  • Zustand gesamt:

    A car that is in good functioning order but needs some minor repairs. Perhaps the only DeLorean with an engine heater, the present owner, a northerner, had it fitted for driving in winter conditions, which worked flawlessly. Another intriguing aspect is that the availability of components is adequate for such a unique car. Manufactured in only 8,563 cars, but with considerably more planned, spare parts supply is relatively good. New cars are even being made from these, and production is expected to resume soon?

Fakten zum Modell

Historien kring DeLorean är både innehållsrik och spännande. Huruvida allt som har sagts i historien är fakta eller rykten får väl visa sig med tiden eller så får vi aldrig riktigt veta.

Säkert är dock att John DeLoeran, tidigare toppchef inom GM, drog igång sitt livsprojekti mitten av 70-talet. Det skulle bli en sportbil - i rostfritt stål -, så blev det.

Giugiaros från ItalDesign gjorde designen, Lotus idé med en kryssram återanvändes och efter diverse tester med olika motorer blev det PRV-motorn från samarbetet Peugeot, Renault och Volvo som klämdes ner i bak. För att få bidrag och komma igång med tillverkningen spelade man ut olika möjliga länder/orter. Det landade i att Nord-Irland och Belfast ansågs bäst, ur ekonomisk synvinkel. Hela projektet där påbörjades i slutet av 70-talet men det var först i januari 1981 som de första bilarna levererades. Sagan blev kort och efter turbulenta turer och ekonomiska problem, där John DeLoren visade sig vara inblandad i narkotikaaffärer, allt för att rädda företaget, tog det slut. Bilar byggdes under ett par år och det finns årsmodeller från 1981-1983.

Den blev väl egentligen en kultbil från första stund beroende på dess historik, kändisar och inte minst tack vare filmtriologin Tillbaka till framtiden.

  • At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
  • During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
  • Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
  • When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
  • If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
  • If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
  • Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
  • For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
