Zustand technisch
The car runs well and has been well maintained. It is fitted with a brand-new battery. The timing belt should be replaced due to its age. The engine oil and oil filter were changed a few years ago, but the car has seen very little use since then. There is a minor leak from the rear muffler.
-
Zustand Interieur
Very complete and fine original upholstery, the rear seat looks completely unused. Minor damage is present on the left rear door panel. Unfortunately, the radio is not working.
-
Zustand Exterieur
Very nice paint finish, though there is minor touch-up work on the right rear wheel arch and some scuffing under the right front bumper. The bonnet has been resprayed and shows a minor colour deviation compared to the rest of the car. Original tyres on steel wheels with age cracks; a set of more recent summer wheels is included along with four studded winter wheels.

Zustand gesamt
An incredibly well-preserved and low-mileage Golf that is inspected and ready to drive.
Fakten zum Modell
The Golf Mk2 was larger, more spacious and safer than the first Golf generation. It featured improved rust protection, better comfort and a wider engine range. During 1990, the car was offered in several versions, from the basic CL to the more comprehensively equipped GL, the sporty GTI and the four-wheel-drive Syncro. Additionally, there was the unusual Golf Country, a terrain-inspired version with increased ground clearance and four-wheel drive.
The engine range comprised petrol engines from approximately 1.3 to 1.8 litres, as well as diesel and turbodiesel engines that were appreciated for their low fuel consumption. The GTI versions delivered up to 139 bhp with the 16-valve engine and offered performance that made the Golf one of the era's most popular "hot hatches".
The Golf Mk2 earned an excellent reputation thanks to its robust construction and high build quality. Many examples have survived in fine condition and the model has become an appreciated classic among both collectors and enthusiasts. The straightforward engineering, good availability of spare parts and the car's timeless design mean that it remains popular to own and drive.
In 1991, the successor, Golf Mk3, was presented, but the Mk2 continued to be manufactured in certain markets for a time thereafter. Today, a well-preserved Golf from 1990 is regarded as one of the most significant models in Volkswagen's history and a clear example of the quality that made the Golf one of the world's best-selling car models.
