This Volvo Duett has remained within the current owner's family since 1974, forming part of a history that spans more than five decades. Prior to that, it had only one previous owner, meaning the car has had just two custodians throughout its lifetime. Over the years, it served as a dependable everyday vehicle, yet it was driven relatively sparingly, resulting in modest mileage for its age.
Although the current owner has only limited documentation relating to the car's earlier history, it presents as an honest and genuine example. Its well-earned patina gives it an authentic "barn find" character. The engine starts easily, and mechanically the car appears to function as it should. Some body repairs have been carried out over the years, most likely to keep the car roadworthy, but otherwise it appears to remain largely in original specification. The left front fender has been replaced and is made from fiberglass rather than steel.

Fakten zum Modell
The Volvo PV445 was introduced in the summer of 1953 and was based on the Volvo PV444. It was developed to serve a new market of customers in need of a larger, more versatile vehicle. The name "Duett" reflected Volvo's vision of a car that could serve both as a working vehicle and a family car—combining business and leisure use in one practical package.
The Duett was designed by engineer Erik Skoog and remained in production from 1953 until 1969. The final Duett, finished in Royal Blue, left the production line on February 11, 1969. Carrying chassis number 97,299, it is now preserved at the Volvo Museum. By the end of production, more than 93,000 Duetts and approximately 4,200 chassis-cab versions had been built.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
