Beschreibung
The current owner has replaced the ignition components and serviced the car with new engine oil and a filter. He runs a workshop where he restores and services collector cars, and his plan was to keep the 900 as a personal enthusiast vehicle for car meets. Unfortunately, time constraints have forced him to let the Saab move on.
Keep in mind that the car has been standing still for a long time, so a general inspection and going-through is recommended. The odometer shows just under 200,000 km. Given the overall condition, we believe this figure to be accurate—it seems unlikely the car would have covered significantly more.
The car comes with its original spare wheel. However, the jack and owner's manual are missing.

Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand
-
Zustand technisch
2.0-liter inline-four with a single overhead camshaft and fuel injection, rated at 110 hp. Front-wheel drive paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The engine starts easily and runs smoothly. Recently serviced with new ignition components, fresh engine oil, and filter. Only a short test drive on an industrial estate has been carried out, as the car is currently uninspected. The brakes need to be checked and repaired before it goes through the roadworthiness test. A new starter battery was installed in 2025.
-
Zustand Interieur
Nice interior with only minor wear. There is a small hole in the upholstery on the driver’s seat. A seat cover was previously used, which has helped preserve the interior. There are a few cracks on the top of the dashboard. The headliner is intact but sagging—see photo.
-
Zustand Exterieur
Appears to be mostly original paint with some older touch-ups. There is light surface rust along the lower edges of the doors, as well as the usual stone chips, door dings, and scratches. Overall, it has held up unusually well—we haven’t found any rust holes. A thorough detailing would do the car a lot of good.
It has been treated with Tectyl in vulnerable areas, including the underside, wheel arches, and similar spots. From what could be seen of the underbody without a lift, it looks to be in very good condition. New tires were mounted all around in 2024. See the photos for more details. -
Zustand gesamt
Unusually good condition for regular use—ideal for someone looking to restore a Saab 900 OG that can be made truly nice with relatively modest effort.

Fakten zum Modell
Initially, the Saab 900 was only available as a Combi Coupé, but in 1981 the lineup was expanded to include a sedan version. In the 1986 production year, a facelift was introduced for the 1987 model, featuring a new front end with updated grille, headlights, indicators, and redesigned front and rear bumpers. The original generation, known as the Saab 900 OG (Original Generation), remained in production until the 1993 model year.
