Beschreibung

The current owner has a passion for unique and unusual cars and imported this Goggomobile T250 from Germany. It arrived in solid, running condition—but knowing the owner, "good" wasn’t good enough. He decided to go all in on a complete mechanical renovation to bring the car up to excellent condition.

All parts were sourced from Uwe Staufenberg in Germany, a well-known specialist who supplies virtually everything needed for a Goggomobile. The total cost of parts alone—based on invoice copies—amounts to around €3,500 or 40,000 SEK, not including the many hours of labour that followed.

The list of work done is extensive, but here’s a general overview:

Engine completely dismantled, bored to 0.25, fitted with new pistons, bearings, gaskets, and a new clutch.

Electrical system fully rewired and renewed.

Suspension and steering overhauled with new bushings, link arms, and wheel bearings.

Braking system completely rebuilt—new pipes, pads, cylinders, and more.

Fuel system reviewed and worn parts replaced.

Wheels refurbished and fitted with brand new tyres.

The bodywork was already in good condition and has remained untouched, aside from one unfortunate incident—a small object fell from the garage roof, leaving a dent in the rear right wing and a few scratches. It’s a simple cosmetic fix and doesn’t take away from the car’s overall appearance.

The car was registered in Sweden in 2022 and is now inspection-exempt forever. Since then, it’s been driven locally to car shows and carefully stored in a warm garage.

Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand

  • Zustand technisch:

It starts instantly every time, and the peppy 14 hp two-stroke engine is surprisingly capable for such a small car. The gearbox takes a few tries to get used to, as the shift pattern is sideways, but after a few minutes it all falls into place. The owner comfortably cruises at 60–70 km/h on local roads.

It handles well, the brakes work as they should, and there are no known issues—it’s ready to be driven home and enjoyed straight away.

  • Zustand Interieur:

Interior is simple and practical, featuring attractive red vinyl seats in good, clean condition. There are two small holes on the rear passenger seat (see pictures). The door cards and panels are tidy, and the headliner is complete, though it has a few marks and a small hole near the rear window. The floor is fitted with a basic but functional mat, which shows some wear. The dashboard is minimalistic and fully functional, and the spare wheel is neatly tucked away underneath the front.

  • Zustand Exterieur:

The car presents itself well, with solid bodywork overall. Aside from the previously mentioned small dent and scratches on the rear left wing, there are no other visible damages or signs of rust. The paintwork is clean and tidy, though it shows signs of an older repaint with some minor micro-blisters and paint cracks in a few areas. The underbody is clean and solid, and a stylish roof-mounted window visor adds a nice vintage touch to the car’s appearance.

  • Zustand gesamt:

A fun and quirky little car that's ready for its next owner to enjoy. It only needs a few minor cosmetic fixes—and let’s be honest, you’ll definitely be the only Goggomobil at your next car show!

Fakten zum Modell

The Goggomobil T250 is a compact, rear-engined microcar that perfectly reflects German post-war ingenuity. It features a lightweight chassis, peppy twin-cylinder engine, and distinctive styling that sets it apart from other microcars of its era. Built by Hans Glas GmbH starting in 1955, production continued even after the company was taken over by BMW in 1966. This continuity helped cement the Goggomobil’s place in automotive history and microcar legend.
