In 2022, when the grandson turned 18, ownership was transferred to him, and the restoration was completed in 2023. It is a heartwarming story of passing on knowledge and craftsmanship from one generation to the next, inspiring the grandson to pursue a career in engineering.
The restoration was carried out to a very high standard. The body was stripped back to bare metal before restoration, the entire windscreen frame was professionally repaired along with various smaller welding jobs, and a new windscreen from a Volvo 240 was fitted. At the start of the project, the car had covered approximately 230,000 km.
The paintwork was professionally completed by Sällstorps Plåt & Lack in its original California White colour and has since been protected with a high-quality paint sealant,
The restoration included extensive mechanical and cosmetic work, including:
New stainless steel exhaust system.
NOS (New Old Stock) fuel tank.
Fully rebuilt rear axle.
Fully rebuilt front suspension.
Fully rebuilt overdrive gearbox, sourced from a former Volvo mechanic who specialises in rebuilding Volvo gearboxes.
Replacement B20A engine with approximately 160,000 km at installation, fully overhauled and rebuilt to original specification apart from an upgraded C-camshaft.
NOS SU carburettors.
Genuine Volvo replacement front panel, front wings, bonnet and boot lid. Fitted with a 1973-model grille.
All new copper-nickel brake lines.
Radiator professionally rebuilt by Nissens.
NOS alternator.
New ignition coil.
New brake master cylinder.
Front wheel alignment carried out by Detaljdäck in 2023.
Genuine 15-inch Volvo wheels.
Brand-new front seat belts.

Zustand technisch
Easy to start with a smooth, well-balanced engine and a superbly clean engine bay. Thanks to the C-cam, the car feels sharper than standard, with tight handling, a smooth-shifting gearbox, working overdrive, and solid brakes. Ready to enjoy, requiring only routine servicing. The original engine and gearbox are included with the sale.

Zustand Interieur
Interior is clean, tidy, and largely original. The rear seats are leather and show a few light marks from tyre storage. The original front seats are in good condition, with only minor wear to the vinyl side of the driver's seat. The door cards, side panels, headliner, carpets, and dashboard are all in good condition, with no cracks or damage. All gauges are in working order, and the boot is exceptionally clean and tidy.

Zustand Exterieur
The car presents very well with straight, undamaged bodywork and panels, free from dents or rust. The underbody is equally clean and solid. The paintwork retains a bright, glossy finish, while the chrome and trim are in good condition throughout. It sits on a smart set of Volvo 240 Draco alloy wheels fitted with good tyres, with a steel spare wheel included.

Zustand gesamt
The car has been driven sparingly over the past three years, mainly around Varberg and to local events. It is a great driver's car with the looks to match, ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
