Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand
-
Zustand technisch
The engine starts easily and runs smoothly. During a test drive on a quiet country road, this lively little car truly came into its own. The steering feels stable, the clutch and gearbox operate well, and the brakes perform as they should. It delivers a responsive and genuinely enjoyable driving experience.
The car was not inspected on a lift, but everything visible during the inspection appeared to be solid and in good order. -
Zustand Interieur
The interior remains largely in original condition and offers good comfort in both the front seats and the rear bench. The front seats have been replaced. The door panels, interior trim, headliner, and carpets are all in good condition. The steering wheel, controls, dashboard, and instruments are also well preserved.
All gauges and electrical functions are working as intended, although the seat heaters appear to be inoperative. The stereo is not functioning. The sunroof is watertight and operates correctly. -
Zustand Exterieur
The car retains much of its original paint, although the doors and bonnet appear to have been repainted at some point. Otherwise, it shows the expected light signs of use consistent with its age and mileage. The bonnet has a few small dents.
The exterior trim, mouldings, glass, and lighting are all in good condition and consistent with the overall standard of the car. The plastic trim would likely regain much of its original appearance with the appropriate treatment.
The wheels display an honest patina from use and are fitted with newer Michelin tyres (May 2026). Both the engine bay and luggage compartment remain in well-preserved original condition. -
Zustand gesamt
This is a fun little GTI that has remained relatively untouched and true to its original specification, with only a few items addressed as needed over the years. Many examples disappeared after being driven enthusiastically in their younger days. Those that have survived to the present are now sought-after classics and enthusiast cars.
With its comparatively low mileage and iconic red paintwork, this example is particularly appealing. While there are still a few details that could be improved, it is, overall, a very attractive car from the golden GTI era.

Fakten zum Modell
To reinforce the brand's new image, Peugeot invested heavily in motorsport. The spectacular 205 Turbo 16 rally car achieved remarkable success and paved the way for the road-going 205 GTI, unveiled in January 1984 as Peugeot's answer to the Volkswagen Golf GTI.
The 205 GTI featured a sport-tuned suspension, upgraded brakes, spoilers, and alloy wheels. Early cars were powered by a 1.6-litre engine producing 105 horsepower, while later versions received a 1.9-litre engine developing 130 horsepower—122 horsepower in Sweden due to emissions regulations. This larger-engined model could accelerate from 0–100 km/h (62 mph) in just 7.5 seconds and reach a top speed of over 200 km/h (124 mph).
Over a ten-year production run, Peugeot built approximately 333,000 examples of the 205 GTI, while total production of the Peugeot 205 reached 5.2 million units. The model is widely regarded as having played a pivotal role in restoring Peugeot's financial health.
