This civilian traffic police car, also known as a pilot car, originally started as a two-wheel-drive 2.0t 4-cylinder with 175 horsepower, which was tuned to 220 horsepower. After a collision with a moose, the car was transported to Saab in Trollhättan, where it was repaired and converted to Turbo X specifications, featuring a 2.8t V6 engine with 4-wheel drive. The engine originally had an output of 280 horsepower, but it has been remapped to produce closer to 300 horsepower. The suspension components, including springs and dampers, are special and possibly from Öhlins. This information has been relayed to the current owner by one of the police officers who used to drive the car on duty.
When the current owner purchased the car, it came equipped with all the emergency lights and wiring, and nothing has been homemade. Everything is from Standby and Ana Specialbilar in Trollhättan. The owner has restored the car with the stoplight in the windshield, all control boxes, a computer with the XP operating system, a corresponding Bluetooth keyboard, and a radio of the correct make and model that was installed when the car was an active police vehicle. What is missing is the camera and control panel for speed monitoring, as these are difficult to find, as well as the emergency lights at the top of the windshield. The owner has not been able to locate the correct model of these emergency lights. Please note the other equipment included with the car, as shown in the pictures. The car also comes with studded winter tires on the same type of wheels as the summer tires, which are also from the time when the car served as a police vehicle. The repair on the right rear fender is from an incident where it was involved in a close encounter during a pursuit.
This car is one of the very few 9-3 models that were built as traffic/videocars, and it is particularly unique and rare due to the driveline conversion being performed by Saab themselves.

Zustand technisch
The engine and drivetrain have been replaced with a 2.8t V6 engine with 4-wheel drive, and they are functioning well. Much of the police electronics have been restored. The car has been well-maintained, as evidenced by the service book shown in the pictures.

The interior is in a normal used condition with signs of police activity. There is a small hole and torn seam on the back sides of the front seats, as shown in the pictures. The door panels, primarily in the front, have scuff marks, as depicted in the images. Apart from that, the interior is clean and appealing.

There are scratches and scrapes in the paintwork from faithful service in the police profession, as shown in the pictures. There are also some rust spots, bubbles, and a few small dents, as depicted in the images.

Fakten zum Modell
Saab 9-3 was a facelifted version of the Saab 900. During the facelift, the car was also renamed to 9-3 as part of the new naming system introduced with the launch of the larger Saab 9-5. The name change was seen as necessary because Saab wanted to dissociate the car from the issues that plagued the 900 in the 1990s. The new 9-3 underwent various modifications. The most noticeable changes included redesigned bumpers, a new grille, and the relocation of the license plate to be positioned between the taillights (previously located below). The chassis received updates, and the car's crash structure was reinforced. In summary, these changes were made to modernize the somewhat aging 900 and align its appearance with the 9-5. The available versions included a three-door and five-door combi coupe, as well as a convertible.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
