Here we have a cool Amazon rally car in good condition, which has only been driven in a few minor rallies. FIA documents are available but need to be renewed as the previous certification has expired. However, this should not be a major issue to renew and get the car back on the rally scene again. The car also looks good underneath.
The car is not inspected, and its last inspection was likely around 10 years ago.
The Amazon is equipped with a 4.88 gear ratio and a close-ratio gearbox, limited-slip differential, brake balance bar, sports steering wheel, Bilstein shock absorbers, auxiliary lights, and stylish Minilite wheels fitted with older tires that still have decent tread depth. It also features a safety fuel tank in the trunk, equipped with a new fuel pump.
The engine, a tuned B18 producing an estimated 150 hp, is fitted with twin SU carburetors. Racing bucket seats are installed, but the car lacks seat belts.
The front and rear suspension have been serviced, including the replacement of various bushings. A skid plate is included separately with the car.

Runs well in engine and drivetrain. The car has been sitting for a while and should undergo a system check. The horn and brake lights are not working. The turn signals stay on continuously, and the low beams are not functioning.

The Volvo Amazon, designed by Jan Wilsgaard with a touch of Italian influence, was Volvo's response to the so-called ponton body style that became a hallmark of the 1950s. Produced from 1956 to 1970, covering model years 1957–1970, it became the world's first mass-produced car to feature three-point front seat belts as standard in the 1959 model year.
As usual, Volvo introduced its new model year updates in August of the previous year. For the 1965 model year, there were more changes than usual, with the biggest being the introduction of front disc brakes on all models. Visually, the Amazon received a new grille, perforated wheels, and new stainless steel hubcaps. Another significant update was the new front seats, developed in collaboration with medical experts. The entire new interior was upholstered in perforated vinyl, resulting in a modern look that was also easy to keep clean.
When the 1970s arrived, the Amazon was retired after 14 model years and a total production of 667,332 units. Available as a two-door, four-door, or five-door variant, and ranging from standard models to Sport and GT versions, the Amazon remains a Swedish icon and an important part of automotive history.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
