Beschreibung
In 1925, he took the car off the road, or, as the records put it, “it was removed from the motor vehicle register”. During the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, the car remained in storage and was also displayed for a period at the former Gysinge Motor Museum.
In the late 1950s, automotive painter Lennart Westerbring purchased the old Chevrolet and returned it to the road in June 1963 after it passed inspection. He drove and used the car throughout the 1960s. There is an inspection record from 1970, but after that it was taken off the road again.
The car was eventually inherited by Westerbring’s son, from whom the current owner purchased it in 2012. He rebuilt the engine, which had remained untouched and had not been started since 1969, registered and inspected the car for road use in 2013, and has driven approximately 2,000 kilometres in it since then.
Teknische Daten
Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand
-
Zustand technisch
The engine starts easily and has a strong, purposeful sound. The car is enjoyable to drive, with a small throttle pedal positioned between the clutch and brake pedals. Gear changes are straightforward when made decisively.
These engines were not fitted with a valve cover during the first few years of production, so this is correct and original. An additional silencer is also included. -
Zustand Interieur
Britain and Australia were major export markets, and export models were therefore initially built with right-hand drive, even when destined for other countries. The interior is clean and in good condition. The seat backs retain their original Pegamoid upholstery, while the seat cushions have been newly upholstered in vinyl. The door cards retain their original fabric.

Zustand Exterieur
The previous owner’s father was an automotive painter, and the glossy black paintwork dates from the 1960s. The soft top is complete and watertight, and is relatively easy to operate.
The original side screens, consisting of fabric panels with plastic windows, are included, although the current owner has never used them. A practical tonneau cover is also included. The tyres and wheels are in good condition. -
Zustand gesamt
A well-functioning pre-war car, ready to be enjoyed on the road rather than confined to a museum.

Fakten zum Modell
Its advanced overhead-valve engine was unusual for the period. Chevrolet remained committed to the design, and the four-cylinder 2.8-litre unit continued as the marque’s base engine until 1929, when Chevrolet introduced its first six-cylinder engine and a new generation of models.
