This tow truck was imported from Florida about 3 years ago, where it likely assisted many stranded motorists during the 1950s and 60s. The vehicle has a charming patina both inside and out. Additionally, the towing mechanism is functional. The truck can be driven with a standard B-license, so just start up the fine side-valve six-cylinder engine and drive off. It has a 4-speed transmission with a very low first gear.

Technically, almost everything works well. The engine starts easily and runs smoothly. The unsynchronized transmission also operates very well. The brakes work evenly and smoothly. The towing mechanism is also functional.

The interior is in a patinated condition, and the gauges work satisfactorily. The seats and headliner are intact and clean.

The pictures speak for themselves. Scratches on the right front fender and rust on the front of the hood add to the impression of the vehicle's history. A tow hitch is, of course, included—after all, it is a tow truck.

Ford F-2: A Post-War Pioneer
The Ford F-2 was the first true post-war vehicle sold in a variety of versions as a work truck. The development objective of the Ford F-2 included making driving easier, with a more comfortable and roomier cab, and achieving great customer appreciation. When introduced, Ford's new truck was the only one featuring an all-new post-war design.
GM's Advance Design trucks featured an all-new body but were based on a pre-war platform shared with other GM passenger cars. Dodge's B series, although fully redesigned, retained an outdated semicircular rear wheel well design. Ford departed from sharing a common platform with its passenger lineup and developed a purpose-built truck frame specifically for the F-Series. The new frame included a third cross-member, providing extra strength sufficient to be shared with its medium-duty lineup.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
