Beschreibung
In 2010, it relocated to the Gothenburg area, passing through a couple of owners before the current owner took over in 2022. He has taken an unusually enthusiastic and important responsibility for the car’s documentation and history, digitally cataloguing and recording all service work in a clear and methodical way, while also maintaining a meticulously organized binder containing all the car’s documents.
This level of documentation enhances the car’s value as a collector’s vehicle and provides strong motivation for a future owner to continue maintaining this excellent record-keeping tradition.
The most recent approved inspection was carried out on April 3, 2025, at 108,300 km. Today, the odometer reads just under 109,500 km.
Teknische Daten
Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand
-
Zustand technisch
A clean and tidy engine bay, with the engine, automatic transmission, and documentation together conveying a solid impression of power, reliability, and careful maintenance. The timing belt has been replaced regularly over the years—in 1997, 2009, 2020, and most recently in 2025.
The chassis dynamics hint at an upgrade that benefits the car. Documentation also notes new springs and dampers contributing to this improved feel, and the original parts are included should one wish to revert to factory specification.
The car was equipped with an alarm when new; the small unit remains mounted on the inside of the window, but it is currently disconnected, which is preferable. -
Zustand Interieur
Attractive leather interior with some patina from 38 years and nearly 110,000 km, most noticeable on the side bolsters of the driver’s seat backrest. Nice door panels and headliner, although the leather has slightly loosened along the upper edge of the right door panel.
The air conditioning blows cold, and the audio system works well with a vintage Blaupunkt cassette player. A cassette holder is also stored in the glove compartment. The current owner has not used the cassette player due to a lack of tapes—and has also been reluctant to risk a tape getting tangled.
The original tool kit is in the trunk, along with well-kept floor mats and trunk carpeting. Also note the standard rear sun visors, designed to prevent sunburn on the necks of anyone who might (against all odds) be seated in the back. -
Zustand Exterieur
Original paint in fine and attractive condition—the grey-green shade, Granite Green Metallic, offers a pleasant tone with a subtle green shimmer over the grey.
The glass is in good condition, with a small stone chip at the front, and the mirrors are in good shape. The distinctive headlights pop up smoothly, almost frog-like, without issue.
The car rides on undamaged 17" Cup 3 wheels fitted with newer Goodyear Eagle F1 tires from 2023. The original 16" Design 90 wheels, fitted with Michelin Primacy 4 tires from 2021, are also included. -
Zustand gesamt
The condition, documentation, and what appears to be a chain of like-minded, caring owners—although the current one stands out—create an overall impression that comes close to superlatives.
This is among the better 928s to have passed through the auctions, if not the very best.

Fakten zum Modell
The new model was meant to be lighter, safer, and more comfortable than the 911. Its design would connect to tradition while also conveying a sense of the future. To keep weight down, the car was partially constructed in aluminum.
In 1978, the Porsche 928 was named Car of the Year. However, it did not become lighter—quite the opposite.
The idea that the 928 would replace the 911 never came to fruition, and production of the 928 ended in 1995, while the 911—albeit in a modernized form and construction—continues to be produced today.
