It has been—and remains—inspection-exempt under the old regulations prior to 2018, which applied to vehicles produced before the 1951 model year.
A number of spare parts are included, such as all four doors, a steering column, driveshaft, window frames, a new water pump, and various other useful items, both loose and stored in boxes.

Zustand technisch
The car was driven into the garage a couple of years ago, but today it has no spark and was therefore not started during documentation. The owner has tried to locate the issue and it is likely not very complicated to fix, but has now decided it’s enough, and the car is being sold as is.
A trailer will therefore be required for collection. -
Zustand Interieur
Inviting and richly red plush upholstery in beautifully preserved condition since the car’s restoration around 50 years ago. The restorer’s father was a flooring merchant, and the carpets in the Dodge are correspondingly abundant and of a thick, full-coverage quality.
The rest of the interior, including the headliner and door panels, is equally inviting and well-kept. -
Zustand Exterieur
Deep black and well-preserved paint that has remained in very fine condition over the years, likely repainted in the late 1970s.
Nice chrome and older cross-ply tires with good tread. -

Once the minor electrical issue is resolved, this will be a fine and functional 1940s car. Although the model year is 1939, it was really aimed at the decade to come—albeit in a market hungry for cars, yet overshadowed by a world war that was far from ideal for sales.

Fakten zum Modell
The model also featured independent front suspension, improving ride comfort compared to earlier solid axle designs. The gear lever was moved from the floor to the steering column—a major innovation that freed up space in the front seat—and the dashboard was made safer, without protruding controls. The speedometer was equipped with a “Safety Light” function that changed color depending on speed (green, amber, or red).
The engine was a proven inline six-cylinder flathead unit of approximately 3.6 liters, producing 87 hp. Many of these cars were imported to Sweden by Philipson and assembled locally at AB Svenska Bilfabriken in Nacka. On the Swedish market, the names “Senior” or “Royal” were often used to distinguish between different trim levels.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
