The current owner received a call from a friend in the local area who had discovered a CX20 that had been standing in a garage for over 20 years. After contacting the previous owner, they agreed to sell the car, as they needed to free up the garage space. Included in the purchase was another engine and gearbox.
The car itself was in good, solid condition, but the original engine was seized. Fortunately, the spare engine was in usable condition and became the base for a complete renovation. The cylinder head and valves were overhauled, the timing belt, oils, and filters replaced, and the brakes serviced with new front pads. The car also received new tires, two new hydraulic spheres, and the remaining ones were pressure-tested. The hydraulic system now works perfectly, a new clutch has been fitted, and the car is inspected and approved until September 2026.
The bodywork remains solid, with only minor rust and small marks. It has likely been repainted at some point. Included with the sale are the original engine and gearbox, along with various other spare parts.

Zustand technisch
The car starts easily but needs a few minutes to warm up properly. The suspension functions as it should, raising and lowering the car smoothly. It drove well during the test, although the second-gear synchro mesh makes a clunking sound. The owner recommends either refitting the original gearbox (which is included with the sale) or renovating the one currently installed. He initially suspected a clutch issue, but the clutch has already been replaced. The engine bay is clean, tidy, and well maintained, and the car is inspected and approved until 2026-09-30.

Zustand Interieur
Interior is clean, with textile seats in good condition. The padding on the front seats remains soft, though the fabric is slightly creased, and the material around the rear front seat edges is a bit loose. The driver’s door card shows some damage and signs of repair along the frame edges, and the headliner around the sunroof is damaged.
The carpets and dashboard are in good condition, with all gauges working correctly. No radio is currently fitted. Both the electric windows and sunroof operate properly, and the steering wheel self-centers automatically, just as it should. -
Zustand Exterieur
Bodywork is straight, with some signs of older repair work visible around the boot lid, rear wings, and fuel cap area, and the plastic vented rear window cover has also been repaired. The paintwork shows evidence of repainting, with some small blisters scattered around, mainly on the roof and wings. The sunroof seal will need replacement. The underbody is solid and undamaged, showing only light surface rust, nothing serious or structural.

Zustand gesamt
A lot of work and money have been invested in this car, and it’s now ready for its next owner. The gearbox will either need replacing or the second-gear synchro repaired, and the bodywork could benefit from some light cosmetic attention. Overall, it’s a perfect project for a Citroën enthusiast who appreciates the charm and comfort of these cars.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
