Beschreibung

In February 1984, the initial owner of this low-mileage Volvo 340 took delivery of the vehicle and kept it until 2005. When he was unable to continue driving, the car was parked to his sister's garage in early 1987. It has been spared rust because it hails from the salt-free northern region of Sweden. In addition, because the car has always been kept in a garage while not in use, neither its paint nor its interiors have become noticeably sun-bleached. You may smell the same scent that the new car buyer smelled on his first trip when you go into the car. With the purchase of this car, you will receive two keys as well as all of the original equipment (tools, handbook, accessory catalogue, and headlight protection).

Originally introduced in 1976 as a complement to the bigger Volvo 240 cars, the 343 model series has since been revised and modified numerous times.

A Dutch subsidiary  designed and built Volvo's first car, the Model 343  The Volvo 343 was originally developed by DAF under the designation DAF 77, or project P900 as it was referred to within the organisation. It was Giovanni Michelotti, Bertone, and John de Vries that came up with the three design alternatives, and it was the latter who chose the third. [1] Alfa Romeo 33 and Lancia Delta are only a few of examples of Italian cars of similar size that have obvious design traits. A decade later, DAF 77 would take over as DAF 66's replacement. When Volvo took over the development, it was renamed the Volvo 343, which refers to the number of doors in the vehicle, which is the same system as the 140/240 series.

Fakten zum Modell

Volvo 343 lanserades 1976 som ett komplement till de större Volvo 240-modellerna och modellserien kom att uppdateras och modifieras ett antal gånger.

Modell 343 var Volvos första bil utvecklad av det nederländska dotterbolaget i Born. Volvo 343 togs ursprungligen fram av DAF som DAF 77 eller projekt P900 som den kallades internt. Av tre designalternativ skapade av Giovanni Michelotti, Bertone och John de Vries så valdes alternativet av den sistnämnde.[1] Den bär tydliga designdrag av italienska bilar i liknande storlek, till exempel: Alfa Romeo 33 och Lancia Delta. DAF 77 skulle bli DAF 66:s efterträdare vid slutet av 70-talet. När Volvo tog över utvecklingen blev det istället Volvos lilla bil och fick namnet Volvo 343, där den sista siffran anger antalet dörrar enligt samma system som 140/240-serien.

Volvo 340 fanns i början endast som 3-dörrars kombikupé (343). Från och med årsmodell 1980 fanns femdörrars kombikupé (345) och från och med 1984 fanns en 4-dörrars sedanmodell. Motorn i början var endast en 1,4-liters Renaultmotor med förgasare (DAF 55 och 66 hade tidigare haft mindre versioner av samma motor, 1,1 respektive 1,3 litersmotorer) som arbetade ihop med en steglös remdriven automatlåda sammanbyggd med slutväxeln. De automatväxlade bilarna fick liksom föregångarna öknamnet Remjohan. Från och med 1979 fanns en manuell 4-växlad låda (M45) som alternativ till remdriften och 1982 kom en 4-växlad med elektrisk överväxel (M46). 1983 lanserades även en 5-växlad låda (M47). De hämtades ifrån Volvo 240.

Important to know before placing your bids!
  • Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
  • When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
  • If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
  • If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
  • Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
  • For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
