Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand

  • Zustand technisch:

The six-cylinder engine runs smoothly and evenly. There is no information regarding whether the engine has been rebuilt. The transmission shifts a bit harshly, which unfortunately can be common in older automatic transmission cars. However, the gears shift fine without any issues. All other technical equipment works flawlessly. We cannot guarantee that the stated odometer reading corresponds to the actual mileage.

  • Zustand Interieur:

In very good condition overall. No damage to the upholstery, panels, or headlining. The carpets are in excellent condition, featuring the classic galloping horse design.

  • Zustand Exterieur:

In good condition. Likely repainted during the restoration done in the USA. The paint at the passenger side entry has chipped and should be addressed. The chrome, trim, and glass are in good condition. There are few stone chips, and no visible dents or scratches. The car has not been inspected on a lift.

  • Zustand gesamt:

A beautiful car that gives a great overall impression. There's not much to fix—just get in and drive.

Fakten zum Modell

The first generation of the Ford Mustang was produced by Ford from March 1964 to 1973. The introduction of the Mustang created a new class of cars known as Pony Cars. The Mustang's style, with its long hood and short rear deck, proved to be very popular and inspired a range of competitions.

It was introduced on April 17, 1964, as a hardtop and convertible, with the fastback version following in August 1964. At launch, the Mustang, which shared a platform with the Falcon, was positioned in the compact car segment.

The first-generation Mustangs grew in overall dimensions and engine power with each revision. The 1971 model saw a drastic redesign. After an initial surge in sales, they steadily declined, and Ford began working on a new generation of the Mustang. When the oil crisis hit in 1973, Ford was prepared and had already developed the smaller Mustang II for the 1974 model year. This new car shared no components with previous models.

Several changes occurred on the Mustang with the "normal" 1965 model, released in August 1964, approximately four months after the introduction. These cars are known as "late '65s." The engine lineup was changed, with a 200 cubic inch (3.3L) "T-code" engine producing 120 hp (89 kW; 122 hp). The production of the Fairlane "F-code" 260 cu in (4.3L) engine ceased when the 1964 model year ended. It was replaced with a new 200 hp (150 kW) "C-code" 289 cubic inch (4.7L) engine with a two-barrel carburetor as the base V8. The next option was an "A-code" 225 hp (168 kW; 228 hp) four-barrel carburetor, followed by the unchanged 289 HiPo "K-code" equipped with a 4-barrel Autolite 4100 carburetor, rated at 271 hp (202 kW; 275 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 312 lb-ft (423 Nm) at 3,400 rpm.
