According to the condition of this Opel Ascona, it did not appear to be extremely rusted before the previous owner began its renovation. There are also no indications that it has been utilized off-road by eager drivers. The present owners continued the renovation by focusing on the interior and improving the overall detail quality. The seats are aftermarket and have been partially reupholstered in an Opel cut black and yellow checkered cloth.
As far as we can tell, the engine is original and has not been replaced. The current owner discovered a NOS, New Old Stock, protection engine plate and mounted it. Original steering wheel and sheet metal rims are included, but will need to be restored.

Den som likt Anders Kulläng, Ari Vatanen och Walter Rörhl ville ha snabba skogsfärder, gärna med tidtagning, på agendan siktade gärna in sig på en Opel Ascona SR när en ny bil skulle inhandlas på det tidiga 1970-talet.
Ascona 1,9 SR (Sport Rally) kostade 1974 22 600 kr på gatan, vilket var endast 1 000 kr mer än den motorsvagare 1.6S. 0-100 km/h i timmen klarades av på 12,4 sekunder. Toppfarten noterades till 160 km/h. I den korta listan för standardutrustning gick att läsa: Halogenstrålkastare,eluppvärmd bakruta, klocka samt bogseröglor fram och bak samt några extra mätare med bl.a. oljetryck och ampere. SR hade styvare fjädring och något bredare plåtfälgar än den mer standardbetonade 1,6S. Den största skillnaden i prestanda var accelerationen 0-100 km/h där SR tvålade till sin lillebror med nästan 2 sekunder.
Det tillverkades nästan 700 000 Opel Ascona av A-modellen mellan 1971 och 1975.Drygt 24 000 av dessa var avsedda för den svenska marknaden. För designen av denna lyckade Opelmodell ansvarade Charles "Chuck" Jordan. Han var Opels designchef mellan 1967 och 1971.

- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
