This car is a Type 3 of the most recent model, a 1973 that was sold new in December 1972. Production was halted in July 1973 to make way for the Golf 1, which was scheduled to begin construction in August. The car is owned by a VW collector who purchased it in 2008, registered it, serviced it, and obtained an approved inspection/mot. He drove it for two summers before storing it in his barn, where it still stands today. There have only been three owners of the car. The car was sold new in Karlshamn and the first owner had it for 15 years before stopping driving in 1988 and selling it to a friend in Bräkne-Hoby, who parked it on and off for 20 years until 2008, when the current owner bought it.

Flat tires and a dead battery The engine is dusty, but it turn by hand, and the tank is full of old gasoline. Should start after cleaning and replacing a few hoses.

Original interior in decent shape (equivalent to 100,000 km). All related documents are kept in the glove box (see photos).

Paint is adequate, with the majority of it being original. The front wings and lower edges have rust blisters. Under the carpets, there is surface rust on the floor. Rust spots on the front bumper's top. Since 2009, the car has been parked in the same location as depicted in the photographs.

Fakten zum Modell
Typ 3 var tredje VW modellen efter bubblan (typ 1) och bussen (typ 2). Modellen kom först som 1500, 1961 och från 1967 som 1600. 1970 kom detta utförande med längre frontnos och större lampor och kofångare. Bilen byggdes i detta utförande till juli 1973.
