"A Meccano set that needs someone to complete the restoration."

Description

The current owner inherited this truck from his father. It is currently unregistered and has been disassembled into parts. In its previous life, it was mostly used in the Stockholm area. An origin verification has been done, but this needs to be redone when the ownership changes. The current owner doesn't know much about the truck, but after assembling all the parts found in the garage, he noticed that many parts are available in both painted/unpainted and restored/unrestored conditions. There are duplicates of many parts. The owner cannot guarantee that all parts for the truck are available, but this is often the case when an item has been disassembled into its components. This is a Meccano-style project that needs someone willing and able to complete the restoration. Some documentation is included, such as old registration papers.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Two engines are included, one of which appears to be either renovated or restored. Many parts are in boxes and loose, as can be seen in the pictures.

  • Interior condition:

Reupholstered seats are wrapped in plastic; see photos. Otherwise, we aren't really sure what's there or what's missing.

  • Exterior condition:

The sides of the bed are painted, and body parts such as the cabin, front, fenders, and footboards are lacquered.

  • General condition:

This truck is partially disassembled and has been partly renovated and painted. It needs someone who has the desire, skill, and resources to complete this restoration. Today, the truck is a rare find and can be an exciting and rewarding winter project.

Facts about the model

Chevrolet was absorbed into General Motors in 1918, and that same year Chevrolet began manufacturing trucks. Nearly 20 years later, they had produced almost a million trucks. A six-cylinder engine was introduced in 1929, and two years later, the first series of 1/2-ton trucks came out. The trucks, which were also available with higher total weights, came in several chassis lengths, including 131 inches.
