"Vintage trucks have a special appeal to a certain segment of enthusiasts. A handsome 1946 Studebaker with its fine Swedish heritage probably has even more of that draw."

Description

The first owner of the Studebaker was the Banana Company in Örebro, who traded in the truck at Normans Bilfirma, also in Örebro, after a few years of service in 1950. They sold it in July of the same year to the owner of Hållsjöhytte Kvarn in Kedjeåsen, north of Karlskoga, Axel Israelsson. Axel used it heavily in his business, and when the Swedish Vehicle Inspection began its operations in 1965, the truck's first visit to the station in 1966 was a debacle, and the report was fully recorded (picture). Irritated, Axel parked the truck in a barn, where it sat until 1980 when one of a trio of brothers, Stefan, bought it. Stefan began to painstakingly restore it, and a few years later, it was back on the road. In 1999, his brother Torbjörn took over the Studebaker and cared for it with the third brother, Sören. Today, Torbjörn's daughter has taken over the custody of the Studebaker, and it is she who is selling it. The Studebaker has been given notice from its longtime barn spot, and a piece like this must have a large and good storage space.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

It actually has a replacement engine from the 1960s that was fitted in the truck. According to accounts, it has approximately 40000 kilometers on it. It boasts a dependable side-valve engine and an unsynchronized transmission and hefty power steering and heavy brakes, it provides a lot of mechanical input.

  • Interior condition:

The typical vinyl sofa for truck models from this era is entirely intact and clean. On the headliner, there is an innovative solution with a charming style of fluffy upholstery that has a flavor of 1970s American styling. The gear lever, pedals, parking brake, and heating system, on the other hand, have a distinct original feel.

  • Exterior condition:

Nice finish with a sleek green paint and a modern and unworn flatbed. And almost as neat underneath.

  • General condition:

A Studebaker truck in a restored condition, mounted at ANA in Nyköping in the 1940s with a nice and local history.
