Beschreibung

We have here an exciting project that is a challenge but has all the potential to become something truly special. A custom-built frame with a V8 350 cui engine from Chevrolet with Edelbrock, Cobra transmission, and Jaguar rear axle. The build is approved by SFRO. A bit of trivia, the inspector was Bosse "Bildoktorn". Inspections must be renewed every five years, and Bosse is happy to do it again.

The body is completely stripped, but all parts are included, both original and intended modifications. Fiberglass fenders. A pallet with six collars packed with parts is available. Original wheels and also 22-inch Range Rover wheels with tires are included.

The car is insured through MHRF.

Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand

  • Zustand technisch:

    A classic combination featuring a Chevrolet V8 engine, Cobra transmission, and Jaguar rear axle. All in fine condition with many new parts. Equipped with disc brakes all around.

  • Zustand Interieur:

    Completely stripped, it comes with original interior details, modified dashboard. Seats from Mazda MX5.

  • Zustand Exterieur:

    Complete body with fiberglass fenders and hardtop. Now mounted on a body cart that can be rotated. Windshield is missing. Original wheels and all chrome details are included.

  • Zustand gesamt:

    There is work to be done, but the potential for something truly extraordinary also exists. Naturally, this is a project for someone who, with "eyes wide open," takes over the baton and the challenge. Whether one chooses original/sleeper, Restomod, or something in between, this is a vehicle that will garner justified attention.

Fakten zum Modell

After World War II, demand and production of cars gradually picked up again. Many manufacturers revitalized pre-war designs, but as time went on, new model series emerged. For the British automotive industry, which was somewhat conservative, it was realized that the domestic market alone was not sufficient, and it was crucial to also revive export trade. The demand for small, affordable cars, preferably with a hint of sporty ambition, increased, and the industry responded. Many American soldiers had also become aware of the smaller, sportier cars in Europe, creating a hot market there. Even Standard, with its Triumph, saw opportunities and developed a new post-war version, the TR models, which were produced between 1953 and 1981. The first was the TR2, a small, bold two-seater open roadster. By 1955, an upgraded version, the TR3, was introduced. As British culture, fashion, and music swept across the world, the British sports cars, including the Triumph TR models, became extremely popular. Triumph developed its TR model into the TR4 and TR4A versions with bodies designed by Michelotti. Things heated up even more when the TR5 was launched in 1967 with a straight-six engine from the sedan Model 2000. By the 1969 model year, the bodies were upgraded. German Karmann designed a new front and rear end. This led to a new designation, TR6, which was built during the model years 1969 to 1976, with either Lucas fuel injection or dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors for the US market. A total of 91,850 units were reportedly built.

The TR era concluded with the TR7 and TR8 from 1975 to 1981.

  • At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time.   • During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
  • Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
  • When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
  • If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
  • If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
  • Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
  • For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
